Project Nebula

2022

Abstract

Project Nebula translates Modified Atmosphere Packaging from industrial food processing into a compact system designed for domestic use. Conceived to extend the secondary shelf life of opened food, it actively replaces the air inside a dedicated container with a controlled mixture of nitrogen and carbon dioxide. Rather than simply isolating food from the external environment, Nebula creates a protective atmosphere around it. By precisely controlling gas composition, the device slows the processes responsible for oxidation and deterioration, introducing a new approach to food preservation at home.
